A wide range of attractions await visitors every day of the year at the Arboretum and the Adventure Wood Theme Park located north of Road N67 as well. The local forestry installed several rare tree and shrub species in 1978 on the peninsula which has formed between two branches feeding the lake. The collection opened to the public in 2001 (which is accessible from the west over a wooden bridge) is home to 73 deciduous and 38 evergreen species.
The forest situated to the east and west of the lake offers a real adventure. On the western side, nature trails targeting age groups and affecting different sensory organs have been created with interactive tools, shelters, and information panels. Near the parking lot, you can look down on the northern section of the lake from a tree canopy trail. A slide may also serve as a way down from the trail for the courageous.
On the east side, a safe playground made of natural materials awaits the children. Visitors may study the structure of the forest soil on a control station sunk into the ground. On the shore, you can observe the wildlife of the lake from a two-story bird-watching station, overseeing the territory of the arboretum. Wild ducks, mallard ducks, great egrets, gray herons, white storks, greylag geese and small songbirds live in the reeds are the most common waterfowl which live in the lake and its reed beds.
