Lake Deseda is famous for its great angling and long coasts which provide places for many anglers. Both predatory and non-predatory fish species live in the lake which often features in the news due to the number of record breaking fish – a 99 kg catfish or an almost 24 kg carp – were caught here. Angling is organised and supervised by the Kaposvár Anglers’ Association. The members look after the shores and are responsible for fish stocking and patrolling. International and national angling competitions take place here on a regular basis, the lake even hosted the World Championship for Carp in 2017.
